Why we Desperately need Days Gone 2

Days gone 2 is a game that could fill a huge void that is in the post-apocalyptic and survival game genre. The first Days Gone game, came out back in 2019, developed by Bend Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, initially releasing exclusively on PlayStation and later on PC. Days Gone is a post-apocalyptic survival open world game, with really great story about Deacon, a biker who is on a mission to find his wife who he thought was dead 2 years after the freakers have overrun the world.

The story goes deeper and beyond this, and the game does a really good job in making the player experience all the emotions through the main character and all the other characters tied to him. For a game that was over 18 hours of play, the story kept you guessing, with twists and turns that kept you playing the game till the end. Days gone 2 would have a perfect plot in any direction because a lot was left unfinished.

Why do we need Days Gone 2?

In terms of the story of Deacon and Sarah, a lot was left untold, Days Gone 2 can easily get a basic plot and with the addition of other characters we could have a really good and compelling story for Days Gone 2.

Another reason, why we need Days Gone 2 is because ever since its release in 2019, a few games within the post-apocalyptic survival genre have managed to match what it did. With the exception of maybe The Last Of Us Part II, the other major titles have been a huge disappointment and a let down. Dying light 2 wasn’t all that and let’s not even talk about The Day Before.

Days Gone 2 Deacon

As much as, Days Gone was an open-world game about survival in the post-apocalyptic world, which a concept that we have seen so many times in games like, State Of Decay 2, Dying Light and many others, Days Gone added an element that gave the player something new to focus on, and this was his bike. Not only was the bike fun to ride, but the upgrading and progression system made you feel connected to the bike. This is something that made the Days Gone game concept unique, and different from the normal survival story game.

The freakers, the game’s zombie-like antagonists, were a formidable force in the original “Days Gone.” However, their behavior and biology left much to be explored. With a Days Gone 2, a sequel could dive deeper into the origins of the freaker virus, introduce new types of infected, and present players with even greater challenges to overcome. By evolving the threat posed by the freakers, “Days Gone 2” could keep players on the edge of their seats and ratchet up the tension to new levels.

Days Gone 2 Horde

No zombie survival game has presented the idea of “zombie hordes” and “zombie nests” to us like Days Gone did, and Days Gone 2 could even make it greater thereby itself from the other games even further. The game already had a detailed crafting system, with lots of weapons and methods on how one could kill the freakers, the addition of more evolved freakers would be something gamers would want.

All in all, we may never get Days Gone 2, but the idea of it hopefully coming is what keeps us going. The possibility of the developers seeing and hearing what the gaming community is demanding, could be highly appreciated. But for now, we just have to wait and play other video games that may be similar to Days Gone.
